绝对贫困是什么？
世界银行说，当一个人的日均收入低于1.9美元，他/她就陷入了绝对贫困。世界银行还说，预计2020年全球仍有7亿多人处于绝对贫困。
What is absolute poverty? Absolute poverty is defined as household income per capita below US$1.9 a day, according to the World Bank. It’s estimated that over 700 million people still lived in absolute poverty in 2020.
绝对贫困离你很遥远吗？如果你身在中国，那么答案是肯定的。因为到2020年末，中国现行标准下的农村贫困人口已经全部脱贫，绝对贫困和区域性整体贫困已然成为历史。新中国成立后的70多年里，中国共产党组织实施了人类历史上规模最大、力度最强的脱贫攻坚战，让8亿多人摆脱了贫困。
特别是2012年以来，全党全国持续发力，通过精准扶贫让9899万人、832个贫困县跳出了贫困线，创造了人类减贫史上的奇迹。
Is “absolute poverty” far from you?
If you live in China, then the answer is “yes” because China has lifted all rural poor population under the current standard out of poverty by the end of 2020. Absolute poverty and regional poverty have become things of the past in China.
Since the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, the CPC Central Committee has fought the largest and most vigorous battle in human history against poverty over the past 70 plus years, helping more than 800 million people lift themselves out of poverty. Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, poverty eradication has been put in aprominent place. By implementing targeted measures, China has helped 98.99 million poor rural population shake off poverty, with 832 impoverished counties removed from the poverty list. It is a stunning achievement and a miracle that shall go down in history.
扶贫，与青年有关吗？如果你仔细观察中国的扶贫队伍，不难发现其中有大量年轻的面孔。他们以志愿者、驻村干部、返乡创业者、扶贫工作队员等多种身份，在中国的扶贫道路上留下了许多经验和事迹。
What’s the role of young people in poverty reduction?
Among China’s poverty-relief workers, you may find a large number of young faces. For years, these young people have devoted themselves as volunteers, cadres stationed in villages, entrepreneurs returning to hometowns, and poverty alleviation workers… They have kept fighting on the road to ending poverty, creating many moving stories.
接下来，我们将陆续分享四则扶贫故事，用镜头记录下中国青年在这场伟大战役中拼搏的身影。故事发生在三个省份，自然条件不同，文化环境迥异。因地制宜，精准施策，或许是他们取胜的秘密。
In the following days, we are going to dive right into the stories of these young people in four episodes. These videos documented the youth participation in the great battle against poverty.
The stories took place in three provinces with different natural conditions and cultural environments. Adopting targeted poverty alleviation measures tailored to the local conditions may be their recipe for success.

二十余载青春接力

这里是位于山西省大同市的灵丘县，于1991年被列为国家级贫困县。

灵丘历史底蕴深厚，人杰地灵。这里有婉转嘹亮的地方戏曲，有栩栩如生的面塑工艺，有技法精湛的剪纸……
这些祖先留下的文化瑰宝如今都成为灵丘人摆脱贫困的武器。

1998年，几个年轻人从200多公里外的北京来到这里，撸起袖子帮助乡亲们脱贫致富。他们走后，他们的同伴又陆续来此，把脱贫攻坚的接力棒一批一批传递下去。

脱贫不是一朝一夕，这些外来的年轻人们把这项事业坚持了二十余年。他们用自己宝贵的青春告诉我们，扶贫不仅依赖资源和技术，更需要耐心、信心和恒心。
