ABOUT DR. YEN YOON

Dr. Chong Yen Yoon (Dr. YY) is a trainer for the youth and speaker for Chinese culture. He is well-known as quality management expert and business strategy consultant.

He had completed his Bachelor of Science (Forestry) in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Selangor, Malaysia, in the year 2003. He was actively involved in more than 14 societies or clubs during his academic years. His highest accomplishment is served as one of the founder team in the Chinese cultural-based “Pesta Angpao” society in UPM.

Other than familiar with the Malaysian politic, he obtained quite high knowledge in social management and community development. As a youth speaker, he also served as President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Mines in the year 2010, Immediate Past President in 2011, and the next three consecutive years as General Legal Counsel. He is currently a certified JCI Trainer.

As a good Buddhist, he was the founder of Educational Unit cum Buddhism teacher in Paramita Buddhist (Serdang). His major achievement was reported in one of the local media.

He was also a customer service officer and project manager in both the media and public relation companies. At the same time, he also offered by the faculty for the programme of Master of Science (Wood Industry Management) and graduated in 2009. Soon later, the UPM granted him a Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF scholarship) and in 2015 awarded Doctoral of Philosophy (PhD), an expert in Quality Management System (QMS) in his field.

He has been actively participating in various researched-based invention and innovation competitions, seminar presentations and exhibitor in international wood-based fairs. His projects were awarded Gold Medals (the 23rd International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition 2012; UPM Research and Innovation Exhibition 2011), Silver Medals (Malaysia Innovation Expo 2013; UPM Research and Innovation Exhibition 2011), and Bronze Medals (UPM Research and Innovation Exhibition 2014; Malaysia Technology Expo 2013).

Since 2014, he was selected as one of the Malaysia young leaders that were invited by the embassy of China as Malaysian delegate to ASEAN Young Leadership Exchange Program in China and spent almost one month in the GuangXi and GuangDong Province of China, to involve in youth programme.
